27. Materials and plant taken over by the Government.

Under Clause 9 of General Conditions of Contract

No. 17, all materials and plant upon the site

became the property of the Government, when the works were taken over from the Contractor upon his failure to complete.

They were used as required in the completion of the works and the unexpended balance was sold

by tender.

The sum produced by the sale was placed to the

Contractors' credit in the final account.

The Contractors' claim is not admissible.

28. Half balusters blocks.

The whole of the balustrade piers and half

balusters connected to them have been re-

-measured on the site.

The quantities and value of the work as
